Should there be a breach of the peace in seizing your car, your creditor may be required to pay a penalty or to compensate you if any harm is done to you or your property. If your creditor chooses to resell the car at public auction, state law usually requires you to be notified of the date so that if you wish, you can attend and participate in the bidding. The Delaware Department of Transportations (DOT) Sign and Signal shop is charged with creating and repairing the road signs displayed throughout the state. But if you’re late with your car payments, or in some states, if you don’t repossession rights have adequate auto insurance, your vehicle could be taken away from you.
